The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association want a world in which blind and partially-sighted people have the same rights, responsibilities, and opportunities as everyone else. Guide Dogs provide mobility and freedom to blind and partially-sighted people. The association also campaign for the rights of those with visual impairments, educate the public about eye care and invest millions of pounds in eye disease research.

Action for Blind People provide practical support, advice, holiday breaks and children’s sports clubs to visually impaired people throughout the UK. They are an ambitious and growing organisation which are part of the RNIB Group of services. Last year they introduced over 22,000 new visually impaired people to their services.

Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) is the UK’s leading charity offering information, support and advice to almost two million people with sight loss. Their pioneering work helps anyone with a sight problem – not just with braille and Talking Books, but with imaginative and practical solutions to everyday challenges. They also provide information on eye conditions and provide support and advice for people living with sight loss.

Call the Helpline on 0303 123 9999 if you or someone you know has a sight problem. The RNIB Helpline offers confidential service. Many of their Helpline staff have sight problems themselves. They are trained to listen and to give reassurance and advice. The Helpline is open Monday to Friday 8.45am to 5.30pm. Messages can be left on their answer phone outside these hours. Interpreters can be arranged for most languages. All calls are treated in confidence.
