Ted Simon and Jupiter’s Travels
In many ways the original for many of us all. Probably one of the best books ever written concerning overland motorcycle travel. Many people believe the book inspired thousands to follow in his footsteps.
Sam Manicom – Motorcycle Travel Writer
Sam wanted to do something completely different so he learned to ride a motorcycle and 3 months later set off to ride the length of Africa. His one-year trip turned into an eight-year four book epic across 55 countries around the world and led to four excellent books recounting his journey. For publications see:
‘Into Africa’ – Sam’s first book becomes ‘Under Asian Skies’ which continues the adventure. ‘Distant Suns’ – the third book leads to ‘Tortillas to Totems’
Paddy Tyson
It’s 2008. The world enters economic meltdown. A global flu pandemic looms. An historical US presidential election is taking place and, somewhere in the Americas, a lone Irishman is coaxing his temperamental Italian motorcycle through another electrical breakdown.
Lois Pryce
Leaving school at the age of 16, Lois worked as a carrot picker, painter and decorator and then failed an audition as a kiss-o-gram. After various underpaid jobs in record shops and as a product manager in the BBC, she jacked it all in to ride her bike from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego. Her on-line diary of her journey led to her first book, Lois on the Loose. Her second follows her trip from Tangiers to the Cape of Good Hope.
Adventures in Yellow
The web site and story of Norman and Maggie Magowan, exchanging their routine of nine to five existence to become biking nomads on an epic motorcycling adventure through the Americas. The journey spanned 35,500 miles from Chile to Alaska and is told in two great saddle yarns: Leprechauns in Latin America and Leprechauns in Alaska.
